Description

What you will be doing as the Senior Staff Accountant:
General Accounting
Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, prepaids, and reclassifications
Perform monthly bank and balance sheet account reconciliations
Maintain fixed asset and CIP schedules; record and reconcile depreciation
Initiate accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Create payroll files and complete related entries and reconciliations
Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP
Month-End Close & Reporting
Actively support the monthly and year-end close process, meeting established deadlines consistently
Pull and download banking and investment statements; save and organize in company files
Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements, including balance sheet reconciliations
Analyze account variances and provide clear, concise explanations
Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity across assigned entities
Assist in preparing internal financial reports for management review
Compliance & Audit Support
Assist with annual audits and preparation of audit schedules
Maintain well-organized documentation to support internal controls
Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvements
What you will need as the Senior Staff Accountant:
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
3-6 years of progressive accounting experience; real estate or multi-entity experience a plus
CPA or active CPA candidate preferred
Technical Skills
Solid understanding of GAAP
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
Experience with real estate ERP systems (Yardi, MRI, or equivalent) strongly preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
