Staff Accountant I

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Location: San Marcos, Texas

About This Role

Are you a highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated person who has a strong accounting background? If so, our Staff Accountant I role may be for you. The person in this role is responsible for performing accounting tasks in collaboration with internal departments.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger (GL) accounts.
• Assisting with monthly close processes.
• Reconciling bank accounts monthly, including verification of deposits, and addressing inquiries from banks.
• Timely customer invoicing and diligent management of collections.
• Assistance with accounts payable; processing incoming invoices and ensuring expenses are recorded to the appropriate GL accounts.
• Providing outside auditors with assistance; gathering necessary account information and documents to perform the annual audit.
• Ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
• Performing other ad hoc tasks as assigned.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

• Has a bachelor's degree in accounting, or in a related specialization.
• Has at least 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting, or similar.
• Is proficient in SAP/S4HANA.
• Has a working knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
• Is highly organized and detail oriented.
• Possesses strong time-management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Exhibits excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Possesses a willingness to learn and a desire to share knowledge within the team

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift/move up to 15 pounds at times.
