Description
Staff Accountant II
We are searching for a Staff Accountant II to join our accounting team supporting our dialysis and substance abuse treatment operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with advanced technical skills, a talent for regulatory filings, and a proactive approach to process improvement. You'll take ownership of higher-level accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and perform complex general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end/quarter-end close activities.
Prepare, review, and file personal property tax returns, CAT Q and workers' compensation filings, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Oversee and maintain corporate registrations, business licenses, and related documentation for all company entities.
Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for transaction processing, and process enhancements.
Partner with auditors during annual audits and support ad hoc projects related to compliance, budgeting, or process improvement.
Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and internal control enhancements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in healthcare or substance abuse treatment.
Strong working knowledge of multi state and local tax compliance, and business registrations.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus, but not required.
