Staff Accountant
Wealth Management Firm
Position Overview
A growing and highly regarded Wealth Management firm is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support its core accounting andfinancial operations. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring operational efficiency across the organization.
This position offers strong exposure to leadership and the opportunity to contribute within a sophisticated financial services environment. Reports directly to the CFO.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting Functions
Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy within the general ledger
Perform monthly account reconciliations, including cash, investments, and accruals
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Financial Reporting
Support preparation of financial statements and internal management reports
Assist in tracking firm-level revenue, expenses, and profitability
Analyze variances and provide insights to support leadership decision-making
Wealth / Investment Accounting Exposure
Track and reconcile investment-related transactions (if applicable)
Support reporting tied to AUM (Assets Under Management) and client-related financial activity
Assist with partnership, trust, or multi-entity accounting structures (if applicable)
Compliance & Controls
Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal financial policies
Support audit processes and maintain audit-ready documentation
Assist in strengthening internal controls and accounting workflows
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency
Support implementation or optimization of accounting/portfolio systems
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2–4 years of accounting experience (public accounting or financial services preferred)
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (ERP experience preferred)
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
QuickBooks
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within wealth management, financial services, or family office environments
Exposure to investment accounting or multi-entity structures
CPA or CPA-track preferred
