The Role:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a multitude of accounting activities, including but not limited to journal entries, reconciliations, the month end close process and audit preparation. You'll reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities by collecting and analyzing account information. The Staff Accountant will be based in our midtown Miami location and report to the VP of Accounting.
Responsibilities:
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities by collecting and analyzing account information.
Responsible for AP, bank, and vendor reconciliations
Prepare journal entries to support the month end close.
Support various audit activities (external, internal and FAR).
Perform accounting functions as assigned to include A/P, A/R, Fixed Assets and Tax Filings.
Analyze financial reports and records.
Ensure that all deliverables comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
Contribute to other department and organization special projects as assigned by the VP of Accounting
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
3+ years experience in accounting or finance
CPA or pursuit of CPA preferred.
Proficiency in Excel with ability to create formula driven spreadsheets, familiarity with pivot table, vlookup, xlookup and other summarizing tools is a plus.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
Familiar with the following software's: QuickBooks, ZoHo, Procore
