Our client, a rapidly growing consumer products (CPG)/retail company located in North Austin, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role offers the opportunity to gain broad accounting experience while partnering with multiple departments across the organization.This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, taking ownership, and contributing beyond the day-to-day accounting functions. The role is onsite Monday through Friday, with the potential for an occasional flex/remote day once fully trained and established in the position.

• For this role, the salary range is bas ed off level of experience $75,000$85,000, with light wiggle room for someone with NetSuite, inventory accounting, and CPG/retail experience. Role is on-site with the possibility of a flex day once acclimated

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end close.
  
• Assist with preparing monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
  
• Analyze financial data, investigate variances, and provide recommendations to management.
  
• Assist with inventory accounting and inventory reconciliations.
  
• Support fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
  
• Partner with the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  
• Assist with sales tax filings and other compliance-related activities.
  
• Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
  
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects.
  
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase efficiencies.
  
• Assist with special projects as assigned by the Controller and leadership team.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  
• 25+ years of accounting experience.
  
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  
• NetSuite experience is highly preferred.
  
• Experience within a consumer products (CPG), retail, manufacturing, or distribution environment is strongly preferred.
  
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  
• A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
