    Description

    Structural Engineer 2

    We are seeking a Structural Engineer 2 with 5-7 years of heavy industrial/power plant experience and an accredited bachelor's degree in engineering. The ideal candidate will provide structural engineering services, field support, and technical expertise for variousprojects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide structural engineering services and field support.
    • Prepare designs, calculations, and technical documentation.
    • Conduct site walk-downs of construction sites.
    • Develop cost estimates and material takeoffs.
    • Contribute to project scheduling and staffing input.
    • Produce and review structural steel design calculations and drawings.

    Required Skills & Expertise:

    • Strong knowledge of structural steel and concrete design principles and industry methodologies.
    • Significant experience in structural steel connection design.
    • Proficiency with structural codes and standards.
    • Extensive knowledge of heavy industrial structures and components.
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in STAAD PRO, MathCAD, and other structural computer programs.
    • Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
    • Ability to manage multiple small to mid-sized, single or multi-discipline projects.
    • Experience performing structural inspections and writing technical reports.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering teams, and vendors.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Professional Engineering (PE) registration (a plus, but not required).
    • Working knowledge of ANSYS.
    • Experience in transmission structure design (preferred but not required).
