The Diesel Tech Department is seeking several students during the school year to assist in a variety of jobs as a lab assistant. The Lab Assistant's primary mission is to assist the full time Diesel Tech Faculty and Staff in performing specified tasks. The Lab Assistant is an important part of keeping the Diesel Tech Department in proper working condition to benefit students. A major area of responsibility emphasized is on completing specified tasks assigned.

Reports To Department Supervisor Education/Qualifications

• Good Conduct and Academic Standing with the college
• Sheridan College Student currently enrolled
• Cumulative GPA is 2.0 or greater

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Must have basic knowledge of safety and familiar with the diesel tech environment.
• Must be organized and detail oriented.
• Must be willing to work in a team environment and alone.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Ability to work with others, both individually and in groups, demonstrate the ability to work under time constraints or with a schedule.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• Complies with safety policies for working in a shop environment.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. and carry 25 ft.
