The TRCC Information Desk Attendant is the face of the TRCC. They are required to provide a welcome and friendly environment to students, faculty, staff and visitors to the Thorne-Rider Campus Center.

Reports To Director of Campus Life and Housing Education/Qualifications

  • Good Conduct and Academic Standing with the college
  • Sheridan College Student currently enrolled
  • Cumulative GPA is 2.0 or greater

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excels with Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to a constantly changing work environment

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Will have to work late and weekends, work hours are 4pm-12am or later
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

Job Duties

These are the job duties for required of the position.

Percentage of time 100% Responsibility/Duty

  • Provide excellent customer service to patrons of the Thorne-Rider Campus Center including students, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Keep the Equipment Closet Organized
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment around the TRCC Front Desk
  • Restock resources when they are our or request more resources when necessary
  • Check out equipment and note when items come back broken or damaged
  • Assist the building manager with making sure that the building and its assets remain in working order
  • Help with tear down of events in the TRCC
  • Complete chalk board signs and ensure event advertising is correct and up to date
