Job SummaryManage an alpine retail and ski/snowboard rental shop located in Telluride, CO. Store Manager will need to successfully manage a fast-paced retail and rental environment, multitask and manage multiple customers. Lead, mentor and train a staff of 08-15 employees on providing exceptional service to our guests. Store Manager oversees day-to-day functions of all store operations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepares and maintains Standard Operating Procedures for managed location.Train staff on retail and rental operating procedures and processesCreate a positive team environmentMaintain rental fleet tunes and ASTM requirementsProficient in POS operations including opening/closing procedures and reporting.Lead daily operations, monitoring performance and budget including scheduling and payrollMaintain administrative responsibilities including training, staffing, budgeting and reportingMaintain daily store records for performance, sales metrics, inventory control and equipment rentals (if applicable)Hire and train employees in POS system operation, product knowledge, guest service, sales techniques and loss prevention policies and proceduresMonitor team performance and behavior to provide meaningful feedback and direction, providing recognition or correction action if necessaryMaintain up-to-date product knowledge and provide excellent customer service through timely response to customer questions, suggestions, complaints, and recognitionHold regular staff meetings to ensure health and safety standards and company policies are being followed.Address staff needs and complaintsEstablish Performance goals for staff, conduct bi-annual and annual performance appraisals.Prepare store for retail and rental inventoriesMaintain retail / rental inventory to prevent shrinkParticipate with leadership forums providing feedback and input on store performance, training, and continuous improvement opportunities.Willingness to support other departments in the Retail / Rental division.Know and enforce safety initiatives consistent with company guidelines.Supports Telluride Ski & Golf sustainability initiatives.Adheres to Telluride Ski & Golf policies and procedures.Promote, support and understand all activities and events occurring on or off mountainCommunicate companywide messages and new information to staffPerform related tasks or special projects as assignedSupervisory ResponsibilitiesCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing staff complaints and resolving problems. Prepares and communicates weekly staff schedules. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
