    Job Title: UI/UX Designer 4 (Mobile)

    Location: Broomfield, CO / Peoria, IL / Chicago, IL
    Work Model: Hybrid (2-3 days onsite per week)
    Duration: 12 months (potential extension)
    Travel: 0-25% (primarily domestic, occasional international)

    Position Overview

    Caterpillar's Cat Digital organization is seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer (Mobile) to design high-quality digital experiences for enterprise applications and mobile platforms. This role will partner with product managers, engineers, designers, and researchers to transform concepts into market-ready solutions through user-centered design practices.

    The ideal candidate is a UX generalist with strong mobile design experience, advanced Figma expertise, and experience designing enterprise-level applications. The candidate should be comfortable owning the full UX lifecycle, including research, journey mapping, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity design.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Lead UX design activities from concept through delivery using established design methodologies.
    • Create wireframes, prototypes, personas, journey maps, IA flows, and high-fidelity visual designs.
    • Design intuitive and scalable native and responsive mobile application experiences.
    • Apply user research insights to improve product experiences and advocate for customer needs.
    • Collaborate with product, engineering, and cross-functional teams to define features and deliver high-quality solutions.
    • Represent the voice of the customer while balancing business objectives and technical constraints.
    • Maintain strong design standards, documentation, and Figma file organization.
    • Present design concepts and solutions effectively to stakeholders and leadership.

    This role supports a high-performing Cat Digital team focused on premium digital products in industries such as:

    The designer will collaborate with:
    • UX design team (8 designers)
    • UX research team (3 researchers)
    • Additional global team members based in India
    • Product and engineering teams across the organization

    Required Qualifications
    • 8+ years of professional experience in User Experience Design
      • Equivalent experience: 12+ years in UX, or UX certification (HFI, General Assembly, etc.) with relevant experience
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
    • Portfolio link required on resume
    • Current location must be listed on resume
    Required Technical Skills
    • Expert-level Figma skills, including latest features and capabilities
    • Strong knowledge of:
      • Low, medium, and high-fidelity design
      • Prototyping
      • Information Architecture (IA)
      • Experience flow diagrams
      • User journeys
      • Mobile application design
      • Responsive design principles
    • Strong understanding of mobile UX patterns and design systems
    Preferred Experience
    • Enterprise application design experience
    • Mobile-first product design experience
    • UX generalist background (not limited to one specialty)
    • Experience in industries such as:
      • Equipment management
      • Automotive
      • Airlines
      • Mapping/navigation applications
      • Oil & Gas
      • FinTech
      • Industrial technology
    • Experience collaborating with engineering and product teams in Agile environments
