Summary of the role
As a BPR Consultant you will be responsible for leading redesign activities in support of the digital transformation of our sales and new business processes for our Retail businesses (Life and Individual Retirement), plus our enterprise servicing processes. This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills to manage an enterprise workstreams, engage with diverse stakeholders, and ensure seamless program execution within tight timelines. The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and a proven ability to structure, define, and implement multi-track initiatives. The BPR Consultant will support business process redesign activities from inception to completion with a focus on delivering business outcomes. As an integral member of the team, the BPR Consultant will have the opportunity to work with leaders across the organization to define and deliver initiatives that will shape the future of the Life, Individual Retirement, and Retirement Services businesses.

Responsibilities
  • Execution of business process re-design activities tied to the Digital transformation initiatives
    • You will execute work tied to an enterprise-level digital program from initiation to completion, ensuring deliverables align with strategic objectives and meet high-quality standards, and lead the team in the creation of business process documentation
  • Design and document the new business process:
    • You will facilitate workshops in collaboration with business SMEs, stakeholders, customer and user experience designers and technology counterparts to evaluate and document current state vs. future state process workflows in alignment with the overarching Digital roadmap
    • You will recommend process enhancements/redesign to increase efficiency and reduce manual processes by supporting automation and straight-thru processing
    • You will document the new business processes in a workflow model, plus define detailed business requirements and use cases in alignment with the program's strategic directive
    • You will properly incorporate legal, regulatory, and financial risk and resiliency controls into the process documentation
  • Quality test the new business process:
    • You will participate in quality assurance and testing of final process development deliverables
    • You will quality test the new business processes prior to release, then perform post-launch monitoring of processes to identify future enhancements needed.
  • Readiness Planning:
    • You will support business launch readiness by documenting process changes and assisting with change management communication activities
  • Governance and Reporting
    • You will ensure proper documentation of risks, assumptions, issues and decisions related to the process, escalating risks, issues and mitigation plans where applicable
    • You will plan, schedule, facilitate and lead workshops and socialization meetings to review the process documentation with process owners, stakeholders, digital program management, and technology leads
    • You will manage the process approval process, ensuring appropriate sign-off and alignment across business and technology partners
  • Planning & Road Mapping
    • You will be responsibility to build a cohesive delivery roadmap for business process redesign activities in alignment with business and technology partners, plus the broader strategic initiative
  • Transformation Leadership
    • You will serve as the central point of contact among workstream team members, IT teams, executive leadership, and distribution partners, fostering effective communication and collaboration around business process redesign activities
    • You will ensure effective communication flow across and within teams. Deliver and coach for messaging that is appropriate for a range of audiences such as teams, leadership and end customers
    • You will indirectly manage and coordinate the efforts of internal and external teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery of deliverables
    • You will courageously challenge the status quo to establish a new standard while patiently pushing the organization on the path to achieving it
What we are looking for
Industry Knowledge
  • Understanding of the Life Insurance, Individual Retirement and Group Retirement Industry; the distribution framework, financial advisors and their client's needs and behaviors using data analysis, direct communication, and support resources.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a consulting space or an insurance organization with knowledge of operational processes is preferred
Business Process Redesign & Digital Transformation Experience:
  • 10+ years of business process redesign experience
  • Experience in Transformation and/or Strategy roles with knowledge of technology and digital trends impacting operational processes.
  • Experience managing activities in a structured and organized manner, with the ability to create actionable implementation plans and timelines; knows how to deliver on time and manage teams and stakeholders to deliver to the same; experience with change management framework & practices.
  • Track record of implementing documentation for a large change initiative, within tight timelines and within budget.
Working knowledge of:
  • Latest Digital trends in insurance and across adjacent industries, including IRI Digital First for Annuities, digital servicing platform providers, and/or trends in digital servicing.
  • CX based process journey design
  • Lean management practices in developing effective and efficient processes.
  • Root cause problem solving experience

Technical Proficiency:
  • Familiarity with digital transformation processes, agile methodology, IT systems, data and analytics, plus common project management tools.
  • A strong understanding of technology to collaborate with our technology partners to build integrated, scalable, and extensible tools to deliver on our promise.

  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to manage complex relationships with executives, maintain strong and transparent communication, and manage expectations effectively.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
  • Certifications: PMP, Agile, or equivalent certifications are a plus
