Job DescriptionUnited States Steel Corporation has an immediate opening for a
Utilities Coordinator of its Fairfield Tubular Steel Operations. The Utilities Coordinator will be responsible for providing leadership, solutions, and strategic direction. The successful candidate will have a mechanical maintenance background.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer the U. S. Steel safety program to ensure a safe work environment, including proper housekeeping.
- Apply management principles and problem-solving techniques to evaluate and resolve conditions to maximize operating efficiencies.
- Use technical knowledge and equipment documentation, safety procedures, and schedules to follow, improve and develop preventive and routine maintenance/operation programs.
- Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance with operations staff
- Assists Area Manager with planning, organizing, and managing area budget and expenditures to ensure strategic and cost-effective operations are adhered to.
- Directly supervise union operations staff and work closely with vendors and contractors as necessary.
- Ensure environmental compliance.
- Perform administrative activities such as scheduling crews, completing production reports, conducting safety conversations, and compiling other reporting as necessary by the operating facility.
Requirements:- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Bachelor's degree in management or engineering, or equivalent experience in utilities and contract management
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a industrial/utilities maintenance environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of contract management experience
- Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills are critical.
