    Description

The Ring Design team is looking for a UX Designer who operates as an AI-native design builder - someone who uses AI tools to accelerate from concept to production while providing the design judgment that AI cannot self-assess. This role will focus primarily on App Store experiences, designing thesurfaces where customers discover, evaluate, and adopt Ring's ecosystem of products and services.

You will own design for high-impact customer touchpoints: personalized recommendations, subscription entry points, cross-sell and upsell flows, and the merchandising experiences that drive conversion and retention. Your work will directly influence how millions of customers expand their relationship with Ring.

This is not a traditional design role. You will work within AI-native workflows - using tools like Cursor, Figma, Claude Code, and agentic AI to generate, iterate, and ship at speed. The differentiator is your ability to evaluate AI output for flow coherence, information architecture integrity, and experiential quality. You will also contribute to systemic design quality: creating steering documents, layout templates, and prompt libraries that raise the quality floor across Builder workflows organization-wide.

    Key job responsibilities

    - Contribute design for Appstore experiences - personalization, recommendations, subscription flows, and merchandising surfaces that drive customer acquisition and retention

    - Use AI-native design workflows, leveraging tools like Cursor, Figma AI, Claude Code, and agentic AI to accelerate from concept to prototype to production

    - Provide design judgment at scale, evaluating AI-generated output for flow coherence, information architecture integrity, and experiential quality that AI cannot self-assess

    - Contribute to systemic design quality, creating steering documents, layout templates, and prompt libraries that raise the quality floor across Builder workflows

    - Partner with product and engineering leadership to translate business objectives into customer-centered design solutions

    - Use data to identify opportunities, validate decisions, and measure the impact of design changes on key business metrics (conversion, retention, engagement)

    - Build scalable design patterns that can extend across Ring's broader ecosystem as the AI-native design practice matures

    A day in the life

You'll review AI-generated design explorations, evaluating which concepts nail the UX and which need rethinking. Mid-morning, you're in a design review with product and engineering, aligning on scope and requirements. Afternoons are hands-on in your IDE and tools-iterating on subscription flows, catching subtle UX issues AI misses, and pushing prototypes to engineering. Between focused work, you're updating steering documents and prompt libraries that help other builders maintain quality. Your stakeholders include product managers, engineering, GTM, and data science. Your customers are millions of Ring users discovering and expanding their home security ecosystem.

    About the team

RBKS Design is the product design organization supporting Ring, Blink, Key, and Sidewalk-Amazon's family of home security and connected device brands. We partner closely with product, engineering, and business teams to ship work that moves customer and business outcomes.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    - Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar

    - Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs

    - Have an online portfolio or samples of work on resume, demonstrating experience creating great end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices

    - Experience in web applications design and development

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    - Experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, customer service delivery or digital sales

    - Experience analyzing metrics to drive business improvements

    - Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems, or experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

    - Experience ability to understand and devise new models that work

    - Hands-on experience with AI-assisted design or development workflows, including tools like Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Figma Make, or similar AI-native tools to accelerate design and prototyping

    - Familiarity with front-end development environments, including HTML/CSS, modern IDEs, or design-to-code workflows that enable rapid iteration and direct collaboration with engineering

So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
