Job Description

Maintenance Helper - Dallas, TX

Maintenance Helper assists skilled maintenance staff in performing routine inspections, repairs, and upkeep of facilities and equipment to ensure smooth and safe operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks and minor repairs on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical equipment
  • Assist with installations of new equipment, fixtures, and machinery
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and tools
  • Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify issues and report them to the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Handle tools and equipment safely and follow all safety protocols
  • Support the maintenance team in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and recommending solutions
  • Candidate must be able to work overtime, weekends, rotating shifts be able to fill the different operator positions throughout the plant after a training period.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in maintenance or technical skills is a plus
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools and ability to use them safely
  • Able to meet physical requirements of the position including, but not limited to: prolonged periods of standing and sitting, working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, working in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc), lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team

Work Environment

  • Tasks can involve indoor and outdoor work, sometimes in challenging conditions such as heights, confined spaces, or extreme weather.
