    Position Summary:

    The Sr. Buyer, Procurement maintains multi-line product replenishment for key suppliers supporting sales demand at the OpCos. Responsible for maintaining inventory levels ensuring superior service levels to customers and the sales force through use of industry standard best practices. The Sr. Buyer possesses in-depth knowledge of the replenishment systems, and trains and mentors others in the use of the systems and replenishment best practices. The Sr. Buyer has one or more direct reports.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Manages and mentors the Procurement Specialist(s) for the category. Oversees the day-to-day activities of the Procurement Specialist(s) ensuring tactical responsibilities are completed accurately and on time.
    • Replenishes product from high volume/high profile key suppliers and/ or suppliers that are technically difficult to order. Ensures correct costing of the purchases to achieve gross margin targets.
    • Possesses in-depth knowledge of the Clarity and Gemini systems. Identifies Clarity item and vendor setup inconsistencies to be modified ensuring optimal inventory levels are attained. Trains and mentors buyers in best practices utilizing the systems and managing inventory.
    • Proactively manages category overstocks, aged and expiring inventory and provides guidance to buyers on addressing at-risk inventory.
    • Performs ad hoc analysis of inventory and purchases.
    • Acts as liaison between Procurement and Sales and/or Suppliers, leading aged inventory meetings and discussions.
    • Utilizes strong interpersonal skills including collaboration, teamwork and building relationships with cross-functional partners.
    • Acts as Category Lead in absence of Procurement Manager.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience

    5 years of experience purchasing perishables and/or category management of perishables

    5 years of forecasting and replenishment experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    Bachelors in Business, Supply Chain or related area

    6+ years required experience

    Planning experience

    Leadership experience
