    Job Description

    Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks a Substitute for their SBCH Child Care Center department responsible for working with groups of children in a classroom setting providing nurturing care, creative age-appropriate curriculum and information and support to families.

    • Pay for non-physician positions is determined based on related years of experience and internal equity. Eligible employees may also receive additional forms of compensation, including shift differentials, on-call pay, incentive pay, and bonus opportunities, where applicable. Manager and above positions may participate in Cottage Health's annual management incentive program. Physician compensation is determined based upon specialty and may include bonus potential.     QUALIFICATIONS:

    All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.

    Education:

    • Minimum: 12 ECE units and at least 6 months of teaching experience; OR A Child Development Associate Teacher Permit and at least 6 months of teaching experience.
    • Preferred: 3 units in Infant/Toddler care, and Resources for Infant Educator (RIE) I or Reggio Emilia training.

    Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

    • Preferred: American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Heartsaver Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

    Technical Requirements:

    • Minimum: Familiarity with Microsoft Suite and basic email functions.

    Years of Related Work Experience:

    • Minimum: 1 year teaching experience with applicable age group.
    • Preferred: 2 years with applicable age group including Lab School experience.
