1:1 Assistant

Job description:

A 1:1 Assistant Paraprofessional provides direct, individualized support to a specific student with academic, behavioral, social-emotional, medical, and/or personal care needs as outlined in the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) or support plan. Under the supervision of certified staff, the paraprofessional assists the student in accessing the curriculum, following classroom routines, maintaining appropriate behavior, developing independence, and participating safely and successfully in classroom, school, and community-based activities. Responsibilities may include implementing teacher-directed instructional strategies, collecting data on student progress, assisting with mobility or personal care needs when required, fostering positive peer interactions, ensuring student safety, maintaining confidentiality, and collaborating with teachers, related service providers, and administrators to support the student's educational goals and overall well-being.

Requirements

• NJDOE background check
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
• Ability to commit to a Monday–Friday school schedule throughout the academic year.
• Ability to perform classroom-related duties, including assisting students during transitions, activities, and behavioral interventions when needed.
