Qualifications:
I.Bachelor''s Degree required.
II.Massachusetts License and Experience preferred.
III.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Job Goal:
To aid in the provision of a well organized, smoothly functioning classroom environment in
which all students, both regular and special education, can take full advantage of the instructional
program and available resource materials.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Under the general supervision of a teacher, carries out the instructional activities called for in the assigned students' Individual Educational Plans and in the classroom lesson plans.
- Works with individual or small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by teacher.
- Alerts the teacher to any problem or special information about individual students.
- Assists the teacher in developing strategies for reinforcing materials or skills based upon an understanding of individual student needs, abilities, and interests.
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
- Performs clerical duties and routine classroom procedures.
- Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up by the teacher.
- Assists teacher with non-instructional classroom duties, such as snack, toilet, and clothing routines.
- Monitors and records students' progress on daily and periodic bases, using assigned data-based recording system.
- Assists teacher with classroom activities.
- Assists teacher in the supervision of students.
Terms of Employment: Per Negotiated Contract
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually, in accordance with accepted district guidelines/procedures.
