Manufacturing Estimator - Seattle, WA area
Our client in the Seattle, WA area is a manufacturer of precision-machined parts and sub-assemblies for aerospace and defense and is looking for a Manufacturing Estimator responsible for providing support for their Company.
Keltia is a technical support services company providing Engineering Design, CAD Training along with Specialized Technical Recruiting services to mainly the aerospace and other industries in WA State, around the US, Canada and Europe. We have been in business 20 years in the US and 8 years in Europe.
Position purpose/core responsibilities:
This Manufacturing Estimator position primarily entails Estimating and planning for the fabrication of detail and assembly of parts in response to RFQ's.
Main Duties:
- Estimate and plan for the fabrication of detail and assembly of parts in response to RFQ's.
- Evaluate and analyze aerospace models, drawings, parts lists, proposals, and technical documents to develop timely and accurate lead times and cost estimates in response to RFQ's/RFPs and customer quote requests utilizing ERP system.
- Consult with multiple teams to determine cost and production procedures for tooling, parts, and fabrication.
- Identify and qualify internal and external factors and resources to generate accurate estimates and determine associated costs required to complete request.
- Provide risk assessments of customer RFQ's.
- Create quote packages that best convey Orion's ability to meet customer requirements.
- Support through full proposal process, from RFP to final negotiations.
- Consult with customers, vendors, and co-workers to discuss and formulate strategies and estimates.
- Proficiency using Microsoft office suite for managing reports and data outside ERP system.
- Analyze prior quotes to compare estimated manufacturing hours to actual hours.
- Execute cost reduction ideas to drive cost savings.
Qualifications:
- Broad understanding in methods of manufacturing including CNC Machining centers and Sheet Metal manufacturing.
- 3+ years knowledge of Aerospace processes and finishes.
- Ability to interpret RFQ requirements from customer models, drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledge of Epicor ERP system preferred.
- Catia V5 knowledge is highly preferred.
- Experience with hard and soft metal sourcing and specifications.
- Strong mathematic skills.
- Knowledge of GD&T.
- Strong data analytical skills.
- Able to establish, communicate, and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Organizational ability.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collectively.
- Customer service skills; able to relate well to all customers internal as well as external customers.
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office.
