Working with Activity Specialists, 1-on-1 Teacher's Aide will gain hands-on experience working 1-on-1 with students in our elementary school after-school programs. They will assist an experienced teacher in their class, lead students in recreational and sports activities, supervise transitions (arrival, snack, dismissal, etc.) and participate in professional development sessions.
The position is part-time, from 2:30pm or 3pm to 6pm, Monday through Friday, from September through June. This is a paid, hourly position. Candidates must be punctual, reliable, personable, organized, and fun!
Pay: $20/hour
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support to elementary school-age child with social/emotional special needs
- Work closely with staff including the after-school program director
- Always take a positive, optimistic, success-oriented approach
- Help facilitate successful interactions and productivity in an after-school environment
- Ensure student safety
- In house orientation and support with our internal team
- Monitor student’s behavior, and social and emotional needs
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
· Strong focus on positivity, optimism, and success
· Child-advocate stance
· Great communication skills with both children and adults
· Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
· Experience with exceptional children, education, and/or child-care
· 1+ years successful related experience; professionally or personally
