Quality Assurance Inspector - Seattle, WA area

Our client in the Seattle, WA area is a Manufacturing Company in the composites industry with new phenolic-resin plastic laminates for aircraft and commercial use and is looking for a Quality Assurance Inspector responsible for providing support for their Company.

Keltia is a technical support services company providing Engineering Design, CAD Training along with Specialized Technical Recruiting services to mainly the aerospace and other industries in WA State, around the US, Canada and Europe. We have been in business 20 years in the US and 8 years in Europe.

Position purpose/core responsibilities:

This Quality Assurance Inspector position primarily entails supporting and taking direction from QA Manager/Supervisor and uses the proven techniques for quality inspection. The quality inspector evaluates hardware documentation, performs laboratory procedures, inspects products, measures process performance, records data, and prepares formal reports.

Main Duties:

  • Perform final, in-process and first article inspection of parts/material per AS9102.
  • Prepare certifications and reports.
  • Using inspection hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc.
  • Selecting and printing appropriate test reports, certifications, and bar code labels, which include the generation of test reports to each specific purchase order.
  • Generating test reports, labels, and certifications.
  • Assisting in outside supplier audits and source inspections.
  • Other job duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Desire 3+ years' experience that includes blueprint reading and comparing parts and assemblies to customer requirements.
  • Experience in manufacturing of parts for aerospace or defense.
  • Clear understanding of material identification, control and traceability.
  • Ability to select and use proper inspection tools.
  • Ability to identify, define and describe non-conformances or defects.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to learn and use quality ERP system.
  • ASQ certification or a willingness to obtain certification.
  • Understanding and use of statistical methods.
  • Understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
  • Ability to understand and interpret material and process specifications.
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Basic math skills and computer software proficiency (i.e. Visual, Excel, Word).
  • Inspection may include the maneuvering and of lifting heavy or awkward items.
  • Organizational skills; accurate data collection, storage and retrieval and communication skills.
