Requirements:
4+ years AWS DevOps experience: cloud infrastructure, automation, application delivery
4+ years GitLab CI/CD: designing pipelines, reusable templates
4+ years containerization/Kubernetes: Amazon EKS, Red Hat OpenShift familiarity
Infrastructure-as-code: Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar
Java development support: automating builds, testing, security, deployments, releases
Technical leadership: governance, mentorship, collaborative approach
Desired:
Red Hat OpenShift administration/engineering
Advanced Amazon EKS and AWS-native container platform
DevSecOps: security scanning, approvals, compliance, quality gates in CI/CD
Responsibilities:
Design/build/maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for build, test, security, approvals, deployment, release
Automate AWS infrastructure; support containerized workloads (EKS, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
Partner with Java developers and engineering teams to improve deployment speed, reliability, security, developer experience
Establish DevOps governance: embed standards and controls in automated workflows
Serve as senior technical resource: architecture decisions, resolve complex cloud/pipeline/infrastructure issues
Mentor Level II engineers, document best practices, promote knowledge sharing, simplicity, resiliency, continuous improvement
Support observability, incident response, root-cause analysis, corrective actions for production/infrastructure issues
Collaborate with infrastructure, security, architecture, development, operations teams; limited travel to Richmond; on-call support as needed
The hourly pay range for this position is $60 $70, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
