    1099 Contract Recruiter / Talent Sourcer (Manufacturing)

    Position Overview

    The Hammitt Group is seeking an experienced Contract Recruiter / Talent Sourcer (1099 Independent Contractor) to support recruiting efforts for manufacturing, engineering, skilled trades, and operations positions across the United States.

    This is a commission-based independent contractor opportunity designed for recruiters who have their own sourcing methods, recruiting tools, and candidate-generation strategies. Contractors will work remotely and will be responsible for identifying, engaging, screening, and presenting qualified candidates for a variety of client openings.

    Successful recruiters will have access to a consistent flow of open requisitions and the flexibility to manage their own schedule and recruiting approach.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Source qualified candidates for manufacturing and industrial positions using your own recruiting resources and methods.
    • Build and maintain candidate pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
    • Conduct initial candidate outreach and engagement.
    • Perform preliminary phone screens to assess qualifications, interest level, compensation expectations, and availability.
    • Present qualified candidates to The Hammitt Group recruiting team in a timely manner.
    • Maintain accurate candidate records and communication notes.
    • Develop passive candidate pipelines through networking, referrals, social media, industry groups, and direct sourcing.
    • Partner with internal recruiters to understand position requirements and hiring priorities.
    • Represent client opportunities professionally and ethically.
    • Meet agreed-upon candidate submission and quality expectations.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Previous recruiting, sourcing, staffing, or talent acquisition experience.
    • Ability to independently source candidates through multiple channels.
    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Experience conducting candidate interviews and qualification screens.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
    • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Reliable internet connection and home office setup.

    Preferred

    • Manufacturing recruiting experience.
    • Engineering recruiting experience.
    • Skilled trades recruiting experience.
    • Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, resume databases, Boolean search techniques, and networking strategies.
    • Existing manufacturing candidate network.

    Independent Contractor Requirements

    This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. Contractors are responsible for:

    • Providing their own equipment, software, and recruiting tools.
    • Determining their own work schedule.
    • Managing their own taxes, insurance, and business expenses.
    • Utilizing their own sourcing methods and recruiting resources.

    Nothing in this agreement shall be construed as creating an employer-employee relationship.
