10E General Surgical Floor RN

Job Summary: " Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Responsibilities: " Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate. " Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. " Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. " Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Complexity of Work: " Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Personal Protective Equipment: " Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

This department is a 28 unit, serving general surgical adult population and does have telemetry capability. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6. The unit is also supported by PCTs and a Healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available as well as monitor techs to monitor those on telemetry.Travelers will be required to work up to 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period and holidays if the department has a need.
