What You’ll Do:
  • Perform a wide range of routine and complex laboratory procedures, including blood bank and transfusion services, specimen processing, testing, and reporting.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
  • Conduct quality control checks and adhere to regulatory standards, supporting the integrity of laboratory operations.
  • Assist in the development of new testing procedures and protocols, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, and when needed, perform phlebotomy and patient-specific tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, legal, and institutional policies while providing compassionate patient care.

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
  • Certification as MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS, with current certification maintenance.
  • Demonstrated exceptional transfusion service (blood banking) skills.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, quality control, and information systems.
  • Ability to adapt procedures to serve diverse populations and meet developmental needs.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience in varied laboratory sections such as Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, and Urinalysis.
  • Additional certifications related to blood banking or specialized laboratory techniques.
  • Experience working across different healthcare settings or with travel teams.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field, combined with at least one year of approved clinical laboratory experience, including rotations through key laboratory sections.
  • New graduates who are board-certified or eligible and committed to obtaining certification within one year of hire (excluding Louisiana).

Other Requirements:
  • Availability to work a Saturday through Monday schedule, 6:00 AM – 7:30 PM.
  • Demonstrated excellence in blood banking and transfusion services; SBB certification not required but a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations, with all travel and licensing reimbursements covered.
