Overview/Job Summary

The Regional Used Car Director is responsible for managing the activities and performance of the used car sales departments for an assigned territory that consists of multiple locations. The goal is to achieve used vehicle sales quotas, and PVR through providing training and leadership to the used car managers and team members within the departments. The right candidate will have exceptional leadership skills and oversee the successful operation of the used car variable operations of the dealership. This is a very lucrative opportunity for the right individual.

Three Separate Territories: CO/UT; NM/AZ; ID

Duties/Responsibilities

Effectively manage all areas of used car department, including but not limited to wholesale, retail, purchasing, and marketing

Supervises, trains and leads, used car managers at various dealership locations as assigned

Works directly with our employees and customers to develop relationships and help bridge disconnects in the sales process; strong closing skills

Ensures effective inventory mix and pricing to market of vehicles

Provides training and support to the sales staff and assist in closing sales

Helps manage all other aspects of the used car sales department

Purchases vehicles for the inventory from auction and off-lease returns and trade appraisals

Manages budgets for volume and PVR, and control expenses

Attends national used car, and general manager meetings, to develop action plans to improve business performance

Partners with service departments to manage reconditioning of used car vehicles

Prior experience with desking deals, tracking gross logs, and RDR cars

Ability to recruit, hire and train automotive team members

Ability to forecast goals and objectives for sales, gross and key monthly and annual expenses

Understands and stays informed of federal, state and local regulations

Must understand inventory control (60 day turn policy) and that we are moving vehicles according to Asburys policies

Deals with local and national vendors, and attend auctions in person and online

Performs other related duties to benefit the mission/vision of the organization

Education & Experience

5-7 years of used car management experience required; domestic and import experience preferred

Experience with high volume of unit sales per month

Excellent communication and track record of professionalism

Experience with a public company, policies and procedures, preferred

Strong computer skills (Excel, MS Outlook, vAuto, Eleads, ADP, Netlook)

F&I manager experience preferred
