Summary

Client is seeking an experienced DevOps and infrastructure engineering professional to support cloud platform management, infrastructure automation, and container orchestration within DoD/IC classified environments.
This role focuses on Infrastructure as Code (IaC), AWS cloud services, Kubernetes-based container platforms, and CI/CD automation to enable scalable, secure, and reliable system delivery. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in cloud-native technologies, automation frameworks, and compliance-driven environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation using Python, Ansible, and Terraform
  • Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure including EC2, Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS, Event Router, Athena, and Step Functions
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of cloud resources
  • Implement infrastructure testing and validation practices
  • Install, configure, and optimize container platforms using Kubernetes, Docker Compose, and NiFi
  • Manage Kubernetes clusters with a focus on EKS, ECS, and Fargate
  • Design and implement containerized deployment strategies for microservices architectures
  • Monitor container health, resource utilization, and cluster performance
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab runners and Argo CD
  • Develop and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows
  • Automate build, test, and deployment processes
  • Integrate testing, security scanning, and quality gates into pipelines
  • Manage AWS cloud platforms including compute, storage, networking, and serverless services
  • Implement AWS networking configurations including VPCs, NATs, and IP Gateways
  • Monitor resource utilization, cost optimization, and capacity planning
  • Apply cloud security best practices including IAM, security groups, and encryption
  • Patch, harden, and maintain compliance of RHEL systems in alignment with DoD requirements
  • Implement STIG compliance and support security audits and vulnerability remediation
  • Ensure compliance with RMF and NIST 800-53 controls
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve performance and reliability
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and ensure system uptime
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience); Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience
  • 12+ years of experience in DevOps engineering, infrastructure automation, and cloud platform management (or 9+ years with a Bachelor’s, or 7+ years with a Master’s degree)
  • Experience working in DoD/IC classified environments
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph (within the last 7 years)
  • Current Security+ CE certification
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, AWS, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Proficiency in Python, Ansible, and Terraform
  • Experience patching, hardening, and maintaining RHEL systems
  • Experience managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab runners and Argo CD
  • Experience with container technologies including Kubernetes, Docker Compose, and NiFi
