Job Description

The Sheetmetal Production Mechanic 3 fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs production sheet metal products and equipment in accordance with blueprints, drawings, and specifications. The position performs sheet metal layouts, operates fabrication machinery, forms metal using anvils, blocks, or forms, and uses welding and soldering equipment. The mechanic also inspects assemblies and installations to ensure conformance with specifications.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair production sheet metal products and equipment.
• Work with control boxes, drain pipes, ventilators, furnace casings, and related sheet metal components.
• Create sheet metal layouts using blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Set up and operate sheet metal fabrication machinery.
• Shape metal over anvils, blocks, or forms.
• Operate welding and soldering equipment.
• Inspect assemblies and installations for compliance with specifications.
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience making sheet metal layouts.
• Experience setting up and operating fabricating machinery.
• Experience shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms.

Work Schedule

Candidates must be able to work either first or second shift:

• First Shift: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM-4:42 PM; weekend overtime as required.
• Second Shift: Monday-Thursday, 4:00 PM-2:42 AM; weekend overtime as required.

Additional Information

• Position is subject to SCA guidelines and regulations; Calcasieu County requirements apply.
• Per diem is available only to candidates living outside a 50-mile radius of the work location.
• Per diem will be paid according to applicable GSA rates for the work location.
• Contractors are responsible for entering per diem expenses into NG software/CONCUR onsite.
