As a Welder at United Rentals, you will maintain and repair shoring and shielding equipment to maximize branch productivity. You'll be dedicated to the service of Trench Safety rental equipment. What you'll do:
- Layout and apply the appropriate weld type, as per engineering or manufacturing specifications
- Inspect, repair and paint all rental equipment upon return to ensure that it is rental ready and safe for use
- Perform non-structural repairs or modifications to rental equipment per manufacturer's specifications
- Perform active shoring installation welding support on job sites
- Fabricate projects in the facility as required
- When required, travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance of equipment
- Complete work orders on equipment service and maintain an inventory of related parts for repair
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment
- Other duties assigned as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Welding school certification
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in Arc, MIG and TIG welding
- Knowledge of metals and materials needed to perform repairs on all shoring, shielding, and slide rail applications
- Must be able to burn efficiently and with good quality
- Must be able to identify the type of welder, and wire or rod size, needed to complete safe repairs
- Knowledge of OSHA applicable state and local requirements relative to trench and excavation shoring and shielding
- Knowledge of underground construction equipment capabilities and OSHA safe working practices
- Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsabilites complementaires(liste non exhaustive):

- Effectuer des reparations ou des modifications non structurelles a l'equipement de location selon les specifications du fabricant
- Effectuer un support de soudage des installations actives d'etayage sur les chantiers
- Fabriquer des projets dans l'installation selon les besoins
- Au besoin, se rendre sur les chantiers des clients pour la reparation/l'entretien de l'equipement
- Remplir les bons de travail sur le service de l'equipement et tenir a jour un inventaire des pieces connexes a reparer
- Assurer un environnement de travail propre et sur
- Autres responsabilites en fonction des besoins
Exigences du poste:
- Diplome d'etudes secondaires ou equivalent
- Certificat d'une ecole de soudure
- Minimum de 1 a 2 ans d'experience de soudage a l'arc, de soudage MIG (au magnesium en atmosphere inerte) et de soudage TIG (au tungstene en atmosphere inerte)
- Connaissance des metaux et des materiaux necessaires pour effectuer des reparations sur toutes les applications d'etayage, de blindage et de glissieres
- Doit pouvoir bruler efficacement et avec bonne qualite
- Doit etre en mesure d'identifier le type de machine a souder et la taille du fil ou de la tige necessaires pour effectuer des reparations en toute securite
- Connaissance des exigences nationales et locales applicables de l'OSHA relatives a l'etayage et au blindage des tranchees et des excavations
- Connaissance des capacites de l'equipement de construction souterrain et des pratiques de travail securitaires de l'OSHA
- Sens du service a la clientele et du travail d'equipe, competences en communication verbale et ecrite
- Permis de conduire en cours de validite et dossier de conduite acceptable
- Capacite a soulever frequemment des articles pesant jusqu'a 45lb (20kg)

Like every member of our team, we will rely on you to provide exceptional customer service to our customers.
What you'll do:
- Layout and apply the appropriate weld type, as per engineering or manufacturing specifications
- Inspect, repair and paint all rental equipment to ensure that it is rental ready and safe for use
- Perform non-structural repairs or modifications to rental equipment per manufacturer's specifications
- Fabricate projects in the facility as required
- Complete work orders on equipment service and maintain an inventory of related parts for repair
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment
- Operate overhead cranes, use chain magnets and other lifting devices to move material and hold in place.
- Read drawings to determine the appropriate welding method and equipment based on requirements
- Set up components for welding according to specifications
- Other duties assigned as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Welding school certification
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in Arc, MIG and TIG welding
- Knowledge of metals and materials needed to perform required tasks
- General basic carpentry knowledge
- Must be able to burn efficiently and with good quality
- Must be able to identify the type of welder, and wire or rod size, needed to complete safe repairs
- Knowledge of OSHA safe working practices
- Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
