Responsibilities:
- Accurately diagnose and repair automatic and manual transmissions on a variety of Chevrolet vehicles.
- Perform thorough inspections to identify the root cause of transmission problems.
- Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble transmissions according to manufacturer specifications.
- Replace or repair worn or damaged components, including gears, clutches, seals, and bearings.
- Conduct necessary adjustments and calibrations to ensure proper transmission function.
- Perform routine maintenance on transmissions.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment and software to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Clearly and accurately document all work performed, including parts used and labor involved.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding diagnosis, recommended repairs, and estimated completion times.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest automotive technology and repair procedures, particularly for Chevrolet vehicles.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience at an automotive dealership
- Years of experience vary per position
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
- Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with ability to collaborate with others effectively
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
- Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
