The Work

We are seeking innovative, collaborative leaders to support this transformation.

This role emphasizes cross-organization collaboration and solution architecture. The Systems Engineering Lead interfaces with product teams, Cross-BA teams, stakeholders, and SEIT leadership to define and deliver digital architecture solutions that support the 1LMX transformation.

Please note:

This role requires the ability to acquire and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Travel: Up to 25% CONUS travel as required.

Job Description

The candidate will lead Systems Engineering effort to institute the disciplines for the integration of cutting edge digital solutions across the organization's engineering and operations domains. This role will coordinate cross functional teams, drive adoption of modern architectures, and ensure that system of systems meet 1LMX RMS requirements and standards

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of systems engineers across product teams, enhancing collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Establish Systems Engineering standards, best practice guidelines, and governance models.
  • Define metrics and produce executive dashboards to track transformation progress.
  • Mentor junior engineers, champion knowledge share sessions, and cultivate a culture of innovation and data driven decision making.
  • Ensure compliance with 1LMX RMS instituted process and command media.
  • Perform mERB governance peer reviews, participate and support EO mERB meetings
  • Lead the 1LMX RMS Requirement Management Reviews and Approval.
  • Lead 1LMX RMS Pre-ERB reviews, participate in 1LMX RMS ORR reviews, and support the 1LMX EO and RMS ERB/CCB meetings.
  • Work with the 1LMX RMS team members to review internal Systems Engineering Processes and infuse changes to improve efficiencies
  • Lead the Capability Development Plan (i.e. 1LMX RMS SEMP) updates as necessitated by 1LMX RMS needs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of systems engineering experience (incl. infrastructure, networking, and platform engineering).
  • 4+ years leading digital transformation or large scale modernization programs.
  • Solutions at enterprise scale.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineer, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Technical

  • Eliciting, analyzing, and managing functional, performance, and traceability from high level stakeholder needs down to component specs.
  • Crafting integration strategies, test plans, and verification & validation (V&V) procedures; coordinating hardware software integration events.
  • Executing trade studies, and sizing analyses to validate system performance against requirements.
  • Working closely with Product Teams teams to ensure cohesive system development
  • Guiding junior engineers, conducting training sessions, and documenting lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Leadership

  • Experience managing cross functional, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $147,700 - $255,990. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
