1st & 2nd Shift Tool & Die Makers - Farmington, CT

 

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Tool & Die Maker

Venteon is currently seeking a Tool & Die Maker to fill an opening with a manufacturing company located in Farmington, CT

 

Requirements of the Tool & Die Maker

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the Set-up Trouble shooting, Component Fabrication and Production of progressive, compound, four slide and secondary tooling.

  • CT approved (apprenticeship completed) journeyperson preferred

  • Ability to read - understand blue prints and GD&T as needed for production manufacturing.

  • Working knowledge and practical experience with the use of statistical process control in production environments. Progressive stamping background required

  • Working knowledge of ISO quality standards and practical experience with the use of statistical process control in a production environment.

  • Familiar with Medical and Aerospace (ISO13485 & AS9100) working environments.

  • An understanding of Manufacturing Engineering - Quality Engineering - Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and its components (i.e. Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, 5S, etc.)

  • Familiar with principles of concurrent engineering and design for manufacturing and assembly.

  • Experience with production standards, cost of quality and manufacturing methods.

  • Self starter with strong work ethic / production oriented.

  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs unassisted

Responsibilities of the Tool & Die Maker

  • Trouble shoot & Maintenance of Plant Equipment. 

  • Advanced Machine repair.

  • Sets-up and operates standard machine tools and other machinery to close tolerances in manufacturing machine parts.

  • Fabricate fixtures gages as required.

  • Meets with other personnel regarding instruction, in the design, maintenance or repair of machinery and equipment to assure quality standard.

  • Operates forklift trucks and other material devices in the movement of heavy machinery.

  • Performs Lock out/Tag out safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.

  • Maintains required records.

  • Assist with production tooling if required
