We are hiring experienced Pipe Welders to support the OSU project, a U.S. Navy program requiring a high level of precision and craftsmanship. This is a long-term opportunity supporting critical naval vessel work.
Position Overview:
Pipe Welders will prepare and weld pipe and fittings for various material types in accordance with construction drawings and technical guidance documents. This role requires a high level of accuracy and the ability to meet strict quality standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1+ year of TIG/FCAW pipe welding experience
- Must be able to pass a hands-on weld test:
- 6G position on 2” pipe with 3/32” wall thickness
- Gas purge required with 1/8” root opening
- All welds performed with uphill progression
- Final weld completed using GTAW (TIG/FCAW)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical guidance documents
- Strong understanding of welding procedures and best practices
- Knowledge of safety protocols in a shipyard environment
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions (heights, confined spaces, outdoor environment)
- Strong attention to detail and reliable attendance
Skills:
- Proficient in TIG and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW)
- Ability to produce high-quality welds meeting strict specifications
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and weld pipe and fittings for various material types according to specifications
- Ensure all welds meet required quality and inspection standards
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Overtime and weekends may be required
Pay:
- $26-$28 hour (based on experience)
