What You'll Do
As a 1st Five Developmental Support Specialist, you'll make a real difference by:
Partnering with families to support healthy child development.
Building relationships with healthcare providers and community partners.
Empowering parents with education, guidance, and support.
Build trusting relationships with families while serving as a guide and advocate throughout their child's developmental journey.
Conduct developmental screenings and developmental monitoring.
Connect families with medical, dental, behavioral health, and community resources.
Coordinate referrals and help families overcome barriers to accessing care, including scheduling appointments, transportation, and identifying payment resources.
Provide education and anticipatory guidance that promotes healthy child development.
Assist with quality assurance activities, chart audits, and documentation.
Maintain timely, accurate records while meeting agency and grant reporting requirements.
Represent Firefly professionally through community outreach and partnerships
What You Bring
We're looking for someone who is caring, organized, and passionate about helping others.
Qualifications include:
Minimal Education/Qualifications: Salary is dependent of level of education
Must meet at least one of the following requirements:
1. a bachelor’s degree in education, health education, social work, counseling, nursing, sociology, family and consumer sciences, health and human development, individual and family studies, early childhood, psychology or other health related field; or Registered Nurse; or Licensed Practical Nurse. (Salary range $20.44 - $23.20)
2. an associate’s degree in early childhood, family/human services or a closely related field and a minimum of 2 years of full-time 26 work experience with children and families.(Salary range $19.89 - $22.65)
3. at least four years of a combination of education and/or full-time work experience in early childhood, family/human services or a closely related field working with children and families
CPR/First Aid certification
Strong communication and organizational skills
Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout our six-county service area
