We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused Leasing Agent for a short term position. A vibrant 300-unit community offering both Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and market-rate apartments. Leasing Agent
- $15.00-$20.00 per hour
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm
What You'll Do
As a Leasing Agent, you'll play an essential role in creating a welcoming experience for prospective and current residents while helping maintain high occupancy and ensuring compliance with affordable housing regulations.
Leasing & Marketing
- Welcome prospective residents and provide professional property tours.
- Respond promptly to phone, email, and walk-in inquiries.
- Showcase apartment homes and community amenities.
- Prepare lease agreements, renewals, and move-in documentation.
- Maintain accurate leasing records using property management software.
- Assist with marketing efforts to maximize occupancy.
Affordable Housing (LIHTC) Compliance
- Process rental applications according to LIHTC guidelines.
- Conduct applicant eligibility interviews.
- Collect and verify income, asset, and household documentation.
- Partner with compliance staff to ensure all program requirements are met.
- Assist with annual resident recertifications and file audits.
Resident Relations
- Deliver outstanding customer service to current and prospective residents.
- Respond to resident questions and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Support resident retention initiatives and community events.
- Help create a positive move-in and move-out experience.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain leasing traffic logs and weekly leasing reports.
- Update unit availability and leasing activity.
- Assist with property inspections.
- Ensure the leasing office, model apartments, and tour routes are clean, organized, and inviting.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience in residential leasing, customer service, or sales.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, or similar.
- Basic understanding of LIHTC and affordable housing programs
