Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a 1st Shift Material Handler I to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 500. This is a non-exempt position. Hours for this position will be from 5:30 am - 2:00 pm. The starting wage for this position is $22.48 per hour. Established in 1901, Milwaukee Valve manufactures valves for a variety of industries including Industrial, Commercial, Fire Protection, Marine and the dry bulk hauling industries. Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following:

  • Demonstrates safe operation of various material handling equipment in multiple areas.

  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment in a prescribed manner.

  • Required to work scheduled annual inventory days.

  • Ability to safety use scales, hoists, mobile stairs, and work at heights.

  • All work subject to final inspection.

  • Other primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to the operation of all other workstations located in the Foundry Cleaning Room. (I.E. Bench, Saw, Pedestal Grinders and Swing Saw).

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience - High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively.

Mathematical Skills - Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems that arise in standard situations.

Stand or walk 100% of the shift. Frequent bending and lifting of up to 30-40 lbs. unassisted and up to 70lbs occasionally with or without assistance.
