Shift: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, overtime as needed Position Summary: Work with electric and pneumatic hand tools to de burr parts, grind welds, polish and grain parts and prepare parts for paint per company workmanship standards. Essential Functions: • Select and mounts grinding wheels on machines, according to specifications, using hand tools and applying knowledge of abrasives and grinding procedures • Performs basic maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating machine parts • Inspect parts for visible defects and segregate • Remove the access material from weldments • Responsible for inspection of grinding machines, stones and blades to ensure proper condition • Responsible for reporting any deviations in equipment and product • Read and follow all related work instructions, such as shop orders, process sheets and grinding instructions • Input and maintain data in ERP computer system/Global • Complete paperwork/job sheets required for area • Cleaning work station on a daily basis • Must maintain excellent attendance, and expect to work overtime if the need requires • Perform all other responsibilities as assigned • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task, and follow safety practices • Assist in other areas as needed Requirements: • High School Diploma or GED • At least 2 years experience working with finishing tools in a production environment • Should have metal or wood finishing experience • Excellent hand-eye coordination • Basic computer skills and the ability to read and follow written instructions Environmental Conditions: • Humidity level may be elevated during summer months • Exposure to loud noise, at times Physical Demands: • Able to stand on your feet for at least ten hours a day • Able to lift 50-75 lbs. • This is a 40 hour per week job with the potential for overtime |
