Summary
Operate heavy equipment to support daily recycling and material processing operations.
Safely load, move, sort, and organize materials throughout the facility.
Work closely with yard personnel to maintain efficient production flow.
Perform equipment inspections and help maintain a safe work environment.
Ideal for experienced operators who enjoy working outdoors and in a fast-paced industrial setting.
Responsibilities
Operate a CAT 308 excavator or similar heavy equipment to move, sort, and process materials.
Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
Feed materials into processing equipment as needed.
Sort materials according to company procedures and operational requirements.
Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Assist with general yard duties when equipment operation is not required.
Requirements
Previous experience operating a CAT 308 excavator or similar heavy equipment required.
Experience in recycling, scrap metal, construction, demolition, landscaping, excavation, or industrial environments preferred.
Experience loading trucks, moving bulk materials, and working around heavy equipment.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Heavy equipment certifications are a plus but not required.
Forklift certification is a plus.
Additional Qualifications
Strong attention to safety and detail.
Ability to safely handle and move heavy materials.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Reliable transportation and strong attendance record.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with grapples, magnets, material handlers, or scrap-processing equipment is a plus.
Knowledge of scrap metal or recycling operations is beneficial.
