Summary
  • Operate heavy equipment to support daily recycling and material processing operations.
  • Safely load, move, sort, and organize materials throughout the facility.
  • Work closely with yard personnel to maintain efficient production flow.
  • Perform equipment inspections and help maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ideal for experienced operators who enjoy working outdoors and in a fast-paced industrial setting.


Responsibilities
  • Operate a CAT 308 excavator or similar heavy equipment to move, sort, and process materials.
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
  • Feed materials into processing equipment as needed.
  • Sort materials according to company procedures and operational requirements.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Assist with general yard duties when equipment operation is not required.


Requirements
  • Previous experience operating a CAT 308 excavator or similar heavy equipment required.
  • Experience in recycling, scrap metal, construction, demolition, landscaping, excavation, or industrial environments preferred.
  • Experience loading trucks, moving bulk materials, and working around heavy equipment.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Heavy equipment certifications are a plus but not required.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.

Additional Qualifications
  • Strong attention to safety and detail.
  • Ability to safely handle and move heavy materials.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation and strong attendance record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with grapples, magnets, material handlers, or scrap-processing equipment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of scrap metal or recycling operations is beneficial.
