Schedule: 9/80 Schedule | Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM
POSITION OVERVIEW
Merrimack Manufacturing is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Team Lead to support our new Sparta production line. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring production processes run efficiently and effectively while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
The ideal candidate will possess strong manufacturing leadership skills combined with hands-on experience assembling, testing, and documenting mechanical and electrical assemblies. This position will serve as a key liaison between production employees and management while helping drive productivity, communication, and continuous improvement initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and monitor daily production activities to ensure adherence to quality, safety, and company standards
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to manufacturing technicians and production personnel
  • Evaluate manufacturing equipment for safety, functionality, and operational effectiveness
  • Ensure products meet all applicable quality standards and customer requirements
  • Review finished products to verify compliance with manufacturing specifications prior to release
  • Maintain records and metrics related to line performance, productivity, and output
  • Act as a communication bridge between production employees and management
  • Assist in coordinating production schedules to meet customer demand and project timelines
  • Ensure materials and supplies are available to support uninterrupted production activities
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support 5S and Lean Manufacturing efforts within the department
  • Maintain Clean Room integrity by following proper gowning, cleanliness, and environmental procedures when applicable
  • Adhere to company policies, manufacturing procedures, ISO standards, QSR, FDA regulations, and all applicable quality requirements
  • Perform hands-on assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of mechanical and electrical assemblies as needed
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on manufacturing experience
  • At least 1 year of leadership, team lead, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience assembling, testing, and documenting mechanical and electrical devices
  • Strong understanding of production processes within a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of cGMP, GDP, Lean Manufacturing, or quality systems preferred
  • Medical device manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively lead and motivate team members
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Willingness to attend leadership development and additional training programs as required
EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma or GED required

This position operates in a fast-paced medical device manufacturing environment requiring attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and strong leadership capabilities. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who can effectively balance production responsibilities with team development and operational excellence.
