Position Summary
The HAF Division, located in Greensboro, North Carolina, is seeking an experienced Material Handler I to support shipping and receiving operations by unloading, moving, storing, and picking materials while verifying identification and quantities, maintaining FIFO rotation and traceability, and completing ERP inventory transactions, paperwork, cycle counts, and annual physical inventory activities.
Responsibilities
Unload, move and store a variety of material, parts or products.
Check identification, quantities, report shortages/overages, ensure FIFO inventory rotations. Process inventory transactions in ERP system. Maintain traceability and identification of product. Assist with Cycle Counts and Annual Physical Inventory.
Maintain a safe workplace for self and fellow team members via compliance of safety policies and procedures.
Forklift certification within 60 days of hire; previous experience required.
Ability to transact all Warehouse, Receiving, Shipping or Cycle Count functions in ERP system within 90 days of assignment / training. Train, Perform or Backup in Receiving or Shipping or Cycle Count (but only one of the three)
Proficient in all aspects of paperwork and scales for the area within 30 days.
Troubleshoot problems as they arise; Strong problem-solving skills.
Must be able to work overtime when required, including weekends.
Other assignments as assigned by Management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Medium math skills; ability to add, subtract, multiple, divide, convert fractions to decimals, and follow formulas for conversions (ex: SF to LF)
Ability to work in a team environment, cultivate strong relationships, and demonstrate initiative.
Ability to utilize Lean tool and be active participant in Lean events and High-performance teams. Participating in 5S activities per Manager request.
Ability to use essential computers skills to efficiently complete assignments.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication. For safety and quality, must be able to read, write & understand English
Qualifications
Citizenship: US Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Vision: 20/25 vision corrected or uncorrected
Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in manufacturing environment
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
