Mechanical/Facilities Technician
- 1st Shift - 6AM to 2:30PM
- Full Time Monday - Friday (Occasional weekends and nights)
Location: Plymouth, MN -- Manufacturing
Schedule: Full-time, primarily 1st shift with flexibility to support limited 2nd-shift needs
Reports To: Plant Manager
Position Summary
The Mechanical/Facilities Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, reliability, and operational readiness of the facility and all equipment .This role blends hands-on mechanical troubleshooting with facilities oversight, vendor coordination, and preventive maintenance planning. The ideal candidate is a technically savvy "jack of all trades" who can support both production line uptime and general facility needs.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment & Mechanical Support
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform minor repairs on production lines, metal detectors, pallet wrappers, and other food manufacturing equipment.
- Partner with contracted maintenance vendors; coordinate service calls, quotes, and repairs.
- Support implementation of new equipment, upgrades, and layout changes.
Preventive Maintenance & Reliability
- Develop and maintain PM schedules for all production and facilities equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improved uptime and reliability.
Facilities Maintenance
- Perform general building maintenance (light repairs, lighting, basic plumbing, fixture replacement, etc.).
- Coordinate external vendors for specialized building repairs, HVAC, electrical, and other trades.
- Ensure facility is safe, compliant, and operationally efficient.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, PM records, and vendor documentation.
- Support food safety, OSHA compliance, and plant audit readiness.
