Sigma Inc. is seeking a Production Operator to join our manufacturing team in St. Albans, VT. This is a 12-month contract opportunity working on 1st shift, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, packaging, warehouse operations, machine operation, or general labor. The Production Operator will support daily manufacturing operations by operating equipment, handling materials, packaging finished products, following safety procedures, and maintaining quality standards.

Job Summary
The Production Operator performs essential manufacturing activities to support the production of high-quality products. This position involves operating machinery, processing raw materials, packaging finished goods, following standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintaining a safe and efficient production environment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing setting, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate production equipment and machinery according to established procedures.
- Perform manufacturing processes that transform raw materials into finished products.
- Package completed products accurately and efficiently.
- Follow all company safety policies and manufacturing guidelines.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain safe work practices.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality requirements.
- Inspect products and ensure quality standards are maintained throughout production.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Complete assigned production tasks within required deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with Leads, Supervisors, and team members.
- Adapt quickly to changing production priorities and workflow needs.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and problem-solving during production activities.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Minimum 1 year of work experience in any industry.
- Manufacturing, production, warehouse, assembly, packaging, or machine operation experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a positive workplace attitude.
- Willingness to learn new skills and processes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for an entire 8-hour shift.
- Ability to perform frequent physical movements including:
