MAJOR FUNCTION:
To organize, direct and control the activities of production employees while taking ownership of the shop schedule to ensure finished product is completed and shipped on time, with attention to quality, cost, material availability, and company policy requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Owns and manages the daily shop schedule to ensure production priorities are clear, product is completed on time, and customer shipment commitments are met.
Assigns, trains, coaches, and directs wage employees in proper production, quality, safety, and housekeeping procedures.
Monitors material, tooling, equipment, staffing, and supply needs to identify and resolve issues before they impact production or shipments.
Promotes a fair, consistent, and supportive work environment by applying company policies appropriately and maintaining employee-related documentation in coordination with the Production Manager and Human Resources.
Approves wage time records and maintains accurate production records.
Oversees daily operations, reviews work progress, implements approved process or tooling changes, and takes prompt action to prevent production loss, waste, damage, or safety hazards.
Communicates production status, schedule changes, downtime, staffing concerns, quality issues, and priorities to the Production Manager and affected departments.
Works with Quality, Engineering, Shipping, Sales, and other departments to support company objectives and performs other tasks as required.
