Job Description Job Title: Shipping Clerk Job Description approved by: Department: Indirect Reports To: Shipping Supervisor Schedule: M-F 7am- 3:30pm Non- exempt, Fulltime Summary/Objective: The Shipping Clerk position is responsible for scheduling the most efficient and timely shipment of completed orders to the proper destination and communicating transportation and order specific issues to management and other employees prior to shipments leaving the building. Essential Functions: Communicate and cooperate with all members of Management, drivers and coworkers. Review all paperwork for accuracy according to Panacea Procedures before shipping quotes. Schedule shipment of orders based on most efficient route/carrier, using the internet to collect quotes and schedule transportation to satisfy timely deliveries to customers. Verify case count, skid counts, height and weight and any item that had been zero out is sign off by Management for every order match what we are going to ship. Prepare Bill of Ladings, log orders and print labels for Picking Crew to retrieve and pick orders. After LTL carries have pickup log any orders that need to log on to their web site. Log all orders that have been shipped that day according to Panacea shipping procedures. Work as a team member assisting with office duties such as answering phones, greeting drivers/visitors and maintaining a clean work environment. Email Daily Order Tracking Update to Warehouse Manager. Required Skills/knowledge: Basic Math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, basic reading and writing skills. Ability to prioritize effectively and multi-task assignments. Problem-solve to be able to quickly find solutions to issues slowing production. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel. Become knowledgeable of Panacea vendor routing requests and guides. Ability to operate a multi-line phone system. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to other staff, drivers and Management. Must be able to receive phone calls and emails efficiently and resolve issues to customer and company expectations. Able to sit at a desk, using arms and hands, stoop, bend and reach to retrieve files. Be capable of making decisions required of this position.
