Overview

The Shift Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for overseeing janitorial and sanitation operations during assigned shifts within a distribution center environment. This role ensures all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and according to company and client standards. The supervisor leads cleaning staff, monitors performance, maintains supply inventory, and supports a clean and safe facility operation.

Compensation: $24.50 per hour pay rate (US Dollar)
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program

Shift: Monday - Friday from 7:00AM - 3:00PM EST (will include weekends regularly)

Responsibilities

Cleaning Operations Supervision

  • Supervise daily cleaning and sanitation activities throughout the distribution center. 
  • Ensure all assigned areas, including warehouse floors, restrooms, breakrooms, offices, dock areas, and common spaces, are cleaned according to established standards. 
  • Monitor shift productivity and ensure completion of scheduled cleaning tasks. 
  • Conduct routine inspections to verify cleanliness and quality standards are maintained. 
  • Respond to urgent cleaning requests and operational needs during the shift. 

Team Leadership

  • Lead, train, and support janitorial staff during assigned shifts. 
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor employee performance. 
  • Conduct shift meetings to communicate expectations, safety procedures, and operational updates. 
  • Provide coaching, corrective action, and performance feedback when necessary. 
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new employees. 

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce OSHA regulations, site safety rules, and company cleaning procedures. 
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. 
  • Conduct safety inspections and immediately address hazards or unsafe conditions. 
  • Ensure employees wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). 
  • Report accidents, incidents, and equipment issues according to company procedures. 

Inventory & Equipment Management

  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment. 
  • Request or replenish supplies as needed to support operations. 
  • Inspect cleaning equipment to ensure proper operation and maintenance. 
  • Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment promptly. 

Quality Control

  • Perform quality assurance inspections throughout the shift. 
  • Ensure cleaning services meet client expectations and company standards. 
  • Identify areas needing improvement and implement corrective actions. 
  • Maintain documentation of inspections and completed work. 

Reporting & Communication

  • Complete shift reports, attendance logs, and operational documentation. 
  • Communicate effectively with management, client representatives, and cleaning staff. 
  • Escalate staffing, operational, or safety concerns when necessary. 
  • Provide updates on shift performance, incidents, and completed tasks. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred. 
  • 2–4 years of janitorial, sanitation, or warehouse cleaning experience preferred. 
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred. 
  • Knowledge of industrial cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals. 
  • Familiarity with OSHA and workplace safety regulations. 
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
