Job Overview

Sigma, Inc. is hiring a 1st Shift Warehouse Associate – Industrial to join our onsite warehouse operations team in Hicksville, NY. This is a temporary position with no interview required, ideal for experienced warehouse professionals with forklift experience looking for steady, first-shift work.

The Warehouse Associate will support daily logistics operations by receiving, storing, staging, and shipping materials while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently (certification required or ability to pass skills test)

• Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials according to established procedures

• Load and unload trucks accurately and safely

• Pick orders and stage materials for shipment

• Maintain inventory accuracy using FIFO and cycle count practices

• Work closely with quality control and inventory teams

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned warehouse areas

• Assist with general warehouse duties as needed

• Follow all safety guidelines and onsite policies

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience as a Warehouse Associate, Warehouse Operator, or Material Handler

• Forklift certification or ability to pass a forklift driving skills test

• Knowledge of FIFO, inventory control, and cycle counting

• Basic math skills and ability to read spreadsheets

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly

• Comfortable standing for the entire shift

• Ability to work in hot and cold warehouse environments

• Strong teamwork, flexibility, and communication skills

• Customer-service mindset

Language Requirement

• Must be fluent and able to read and write in either English or Spanish (onsite safety requirement)

Work Environment

• Industrial/production warehouse setting

• Moderate to loud noise levels typical of warehouse operations

• Safety gear required (steel toe shoes)
