Warehouse Supervisor

Position Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping activities. Reporting to the Branch Manager, this role ensures operational efficiency, safety compliance, inventory accuracy, workforce productivity, and exceptional customer service while meeting company performance and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Inventory Management

  • Supervise and coordinate the unloading, receiving, inspection, and put-away of inbound shipments.
  • Oversee order picking, packing, staging, and shipping processes to ensure accuracy, quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Verify inbound and outbound documentation and ensure all product is properly counted and recorded.
  • Ensure shipments are accurate, damage-free, and compliant with customer requirements.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through effective inventory control practices and physical inventory support.
  • Manage product location systems and warehouse organization to optimize storage utilization and operational efficiency.
  • Navigate and utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and SAP to ensure transactions and processes are completed accurately.
  • Assist in maintaining warehouse security and safeguarding company assets.

Leadership & Workforce Management

  • Lead and supervise warehouse personnel to maintain a safe, productive, and efficient operation.
  • Develop workforce plans and schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels and resource allocation.
  • Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate operational priorities, performance expectations, and safety initiatives.
  • Assign work effectively and monitor completion to ensure productivity and quality standards are achieved.
  • Resolve operational issues, employee concerns, and customer-related shipping and receiving challenges.
  • Coordinate employee training and maintain compliance with all required training programs.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, SDS/MSDS requirements, and all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor the safe operation of material handling equipment and warehouse machinery.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
  • Conduct all operations in accordance with established quality, safety, health, and environmental standards.

Customer Service & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with customer representatives to ensure seamless operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and proactively address operational concerns.
  • Analyze operational and account performance reports to support profitability and service objectives.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Complete operational records, reports, and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and operational metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and human resources guidelines.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma, GED, or technical degree required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or management experience in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS); SAP experience preferred.
  • Healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing warehouse experience preferred.
  • Start-up or greenfield operation experience is a plus.
  • Experience operating or supervising the use of material handling equipment preferred.
