Location: Helix Aviation Academy – Baton Rouge, LAEmployment Type: Full-TimeSchool Year: 2026–2027About Helix Aviation Academy: Helix Aviation Academy is a STEM-focused, public charter school within the Helix Community Schools network, dedicated to empowering students through rigorous academics, real-world learning, and innovative technology integration.Position Overview: The 1st Grade Teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, fostering a safe and positive classroom environment, and supporting the academic and emotional growth of each student. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a deep commitment to early childhood education.Key Responsibilities:Develop and deliver standards-based lessons in reading, writing, math, science, and social studiesDifferentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and stylesAssess student progress regularly and communicate results with parents and guardiansCreate a warm, respectful, and inclusive classroom cultureCollaborate with grade-level teams, support staff, and administrationIntegrate technology and innovative teaching practices into daily instructionParticipate in professional development and school community eventsAdditional Expectations:All staff are expected to sponsor one club or Enrichment during school hours when scheduled.
