Position Summary
HAA is seeking a passionate and student-centered Chemistry Teacher to join our instructional team. The ideal candidate brings strong content knowledge, a commitment to educational equity, and the ability to engage students by connecting chemistry concepts to aviation and real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver engaging, standards-aligned Chemistry instruction
· Design and implement inquiry-based labs, demonstrations, and projects that promote critical thinking and student engagement
· Connect chemistry concepts to aviation and real-world applications where appropriate
· Establish a structured and inclusive classroom environment that supports academic achievement and personal growth
· Use formative and summative assessment data to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners
· Collaborate with colleagues on school-wide initiatives and instructional planning
· Maintain clear and consistent communication with students and families
Additional Expectations
· All HAA teachers are expected to lead or support one club or Enrichment course during designated school hours (non-compensated)
· As a Verizon Innovative Learning School, all teachers are expected to actively integrate technology to enhance instruction and promote digital equity
· Participate in professional learning communities and demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional growth
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field (required)
· Teaching experience preferred
· Strong classroom management, planning, and communication skills
· Demonstrated ability to implement culturally responsive teaching practices and integrate instructional technology
